If you have never had a Rogue in World of Warcraft, then, seriously, what are you waiting for? The Rogue is one of my totally favorite character classes and I have a feeling it'll be one of yours also.
For anybody new to WOW, or anyone who is soloing, a Rogue is a great option. They've got tons of built in skills and abilities that make them simpler to use by themselves. To start with an obvious one--You are able to Stealth up to enemies and Sap them, Pickpocket them, and then kill them, using your awesome Dual Wield and super fast combos! Additionally, for the soloers out there, the Rogue has some great skills that enable you to get away quick when you are getting ganked, including Sprint and Vanish-which is great if in the middle of a fight you need to bandage!
Additionally, Rogues just have some of the most awesome skills, I mean what's cooler than lockpicking and pickpocketing?
If you're looking to use a Rogue Leveling Guide, then be aware that you might not get to experience everything in the game, plus you may not be able to learn every skill/profession in the book. This is OK, it's all in the name of leveling as quickly as possible. You'll be able to do all the things you missed and more when you are a level 80;)
Rogue Professions-Rogues work well with a variety of professions. It really is dependent on what you want to do with your Rogue. If you are purely out to make gold, then the best thing for you is likely a Gatherer. With gathering, you choose two of the three gathering professions (Mining/Skinning/Herbalism) and simply sell everything you get. For a Rogue the best two would be Mining/Skinning because of buffs you receive from them. Other good combos for a Rogue are Skinning/Leatherworking to create your own armor, Mining/Engineering, to make toys and weapons. Herbalism/Alchemy is great for making and selling potions.
If using a Rogue Leveling Guide, you could expect to power level more quickly than many other character classes. This is because you'll die less and be able to kill things that are a higher level as well as do higher level quests, thus receiving more xp.
When shopping for your Rogue guide, make sure that you find one which is in a format that you like. Many of these guides come in an ebook format, which does not work very well when you are trying to play the game and alt-tab back and forth to see what you are doing. The same issue with video. The best kind, I believe, are the in-game add-on guides. Just be sure that they comply with Blizzard rules and they are intelligent. This means that they are aware of which quests you have done already and adjust accordingly.
